my life in snapshots
way oops. illiteracy has spread to greetings cards???
*despairs...
Nyargh!!
*head/ desk, head/ desk, head/ desk; repeat to fade...*
Shocking, isn't it? It was in a wee independent card shop, can't remember the name.
I've learned that it's very difficult to buy a large retirement card that doesn't have a drawing of a small animal sitting in a deck chair or a 'fingernails-down-a blackboard' grammatical error on the front. I imagine the card makers assume that by retiral age you'll be too dyted* to either notice or care
* Scots adj. Crazed, enfeebled or confused in mind
I've got a retirement card as our work's cleaner goes on Friday and it's very similar to this one. I had to check it after seeing this but it's OK, no bad grammar...
question is, will anyone notice? or will there be general despair about the state of the world? personally, I have come to enjoy the new grammar.
