So my 5 on the 1-10 scale of whether I ever thought I'd achieve my weight loss, changed to a six after I'd seen Lesley the dietician and I made sure I was on the 13.10 mark for seeing Sue - the practice nurse for my check up.

I discussed changing insulin (a follow up from meet with Lesley the dietician) and arranged a meet with Julia a diabetic nurse for the next week. Me making this diary and having a change of insulin is a result of that 1 hour meet. Yes, my medical practice is ace!

Julia is just so spot on. She analised a weeks record of food, drink, activity and insulin/blood sugars and she changed my insulin to a more rapid response insulin, which gives me more control. I now have 3 professional people supporting me or on my case :) But I have so many more peole silently wishing me well and I am going to use them to reinforce my willpower. I've thought about the 5 on the 1-10 scale of ever achieving my weight loss and I think it s like many big things in life that are difficult, and I assure you that committing to a low carb/low GI diet for life in order to keep my insulin use as low as possible (it's not all about weight loss) is difficult. One of the big stumbling blocks is accepting the challenge, because if you accept it and fail it seems worse. Where on earth do we get that sort of thinking from.I remeber defining my aim as an infant school teacher as giving a child the confidence to try and not feel a failure if things don't work out. I have worked on low GI for the past 2 years and now I am nearly there. I am proud of that - I know I have the tools in the knowledge I have acquired and as established I have the support. I am not sure how my body will respond but I am going to accet the challenge.
