Originally from the UK, I am currently living with Spiderbaby in the sub-arctic city of Umeå in the north of Sweden.

Currently I am working part-time on a research project at Norrlands universitetssjukhus and being a stay-at-home dad. At least until the snow clears, then I'll be a pushing-a-pram-around-Nydala-lake dad. In addition I am trying to make my photography hobby pay by making some of my images available to buy from instacanv.as or from me directly.

Interesting things I read recently:

If the London Underground network at rush-hour were a city, it would be the fourth-largest in the UK.

"If someone can work out how to hook up a chocolate bar into a cell phone, that'd be pretty good, because there's about 35 times the energy density in a bar of Cadbury Dairy Milk [than cellphone batteries]". Simon Segars, ARM
Source: The Register.

I am Pavlovs_dog on PSN and would be happy to link up with PS3-owning mobloggers : )

Too Much Information: The first album I ever bought was the Fraggle Rock soundtrack. Pretty cool, eh? I was only 16 : )

A bit fishy...

I've been a vegetarian most of my life, but due to the ready availability of MSC-certified seafood and growing evidence that vegetarians that supplement their diets with a little fish have better health, I have started to eat fish.

This my just-invented totally sustainable fish pizza. Couldn't find a pizza base in the supermarket, so it's on Swedish tunnbröd with mackerel, prawns, mussels, cheddar and mozzarella, with a spicy tomato base.

Might be nice, might be minging. I'll let you know.

Hope it's good - are you enjoying your fish? This is the way Beth went.

tunnbrod pizza is an excellent idea, sounds great.

Jamie Oliver's website has a very good pizza dough recipe if you're feeling really inspired. It's stretchy enough to do the whole throwyspinny thing too.

Spiderbaby says it was "very nice" but followed it up with "it's not something I would choose to do for myself" so perhaps not a total winner.

I liked it.

Vegetarians who eat fish aren't vegetarian. You're now a pescatarian, Just FYI :P

True, although I don't describe myself as vegetarian. I haven't done for years. I only eat vegetarian food at home, when I go to a restaurant I'll generally have vegetarian food if available. In a lot of the US and other places there is absolutely no veggie option. Also I although if asked I'll tell people I prefer vegetarian food, if I'm invited round for dinner I'll eat what I'm given. Unless it's eggs.

It was very nice! I've never been much of a fish fan but I am enjoying these educational experiences :) More please!

That looks good. I'm pretty much like that too when it comes to eating, except I just don't understand how someone can not like eggs. :)
