Personal Favourites from my moblog

"And as you cross the circle line,
Well the ice wall creaks behind
You're a rabbit on the run.
And the silver splinters fly
In the corner of your eye,
Shining in the setting sun.
Well do you ever get the feeling
That the story's too damn real
And in the present tense.
Or that everbody's on the stage
And it seems like you're the only
Person sitting in the audience

Skating away, skating away, skating away On the thin ice of the new day"

These are various recipes from one book, Mrs. Owens' Cookbook -and- Useful Household Hints. This and Household Discoveries and Mrs. Curtis's Cookbook are my favourites. Mrs. Owens' belonged to my Great Grandmother Alice, Mrs. Curtis's belonged to my Great Grandmother Anna. Mrs. Owens' was published in 1884.

Thanks, Mara.

Viv, that line is why I included it. It's a classic, and you certainly don't see that in cook books anymore! :D
