this reminds me of when my dad was recovering from a bad accident down the coalmine in the 60's which among other things crushed his hand; he had to go for regular sessions where his hand would be immersed in hot oil or wax (the thing looked a bit like a chip fryer) then while it was heated up he would have his fingers flexed. It made him cry while it was going on, but he did regain some use of his hand. Such a lovely smile. Blessings.
