Hi, I'm Rick also known as Mr. C. I used to shoot with a Canon SLR, but that was a long while back. I got a new camera, an Olympus SP-510UZ on 11/06/06. I've added a Nikon D90 with a 55-200 lens to my camera bag in 2010. I'll get a camphone if Almont ever enters the 21st century.
I'm now shooting with a brand new Nikon D90 with a 55-200mm VR lens.
But what a beautiful structure! (I would have destroyed it too, but here we can usually wait for the first frost to arrive and do the deed for us...)
a truly amazing structure, but one which would be much improved by flames! The only other one I've seen was underground in our garden when I was a child, and I built a fire over it. I hate wasps.
Had to destroy few as well. But yes their engineering skill is amazing. Quite amazing structure
Hi, Hildegard. I was astonished at the size of it!
Yeah, Mandy, it's huge!
It is beautiful, Factotum. My neighbors just couldn't wait for the frost. That nest is big enough that they might have survived for quite a while.
Hey Midlife and Ookline, that's what C said!
Hi, P. It is amazing, but I don't want to burn it now that it's wasps are dead.
They are what are terrifying, not their nest.
Hi, Minkey. The engineering is quite good, layers of insulation, light and tough. The beauty of that paper is quite often imitated by makers of handmade art papers!
It is amazing how something so beautiful can strike fear into so many....counting me:-)
truly a thing of beauty and a work of art, but even nicer if left vacant
this was on random......I am glad I have seen it, but boy is it scary !!
