"And as you cross the circle line,
Well the ice wall creaks behind
You're a rabbit on the run.
And the silver splinters fly
In the corner of your eye,
Shining in the setting sun.
Well do you ever get the feeling
That the story's too damn real
And in the present tense.
Or that everbody's on the stage
And it seems like you're the only
Person sitting in the audience

Skating away, skating away, skating away On the thin ice of the new day"

The Fall into Autumn

1 and 3 are faved but they're all gorgeous, wonderfully vivid colours...

did you know your header currently says 'content protected by owner'?...

Great series! I really like the 6th shot!

Caine says:

Thank you, Dhamaka. It was a good day. I didn't know about my header, hopefully that's fixed. Please let me know if it isn't.

Thank you, RAB! There were high winds, which mucked up many of my shots, that feather was shot in one
of those winds. I'm just glad it turned out.

all truly breathtaking! faved 1,3 and 7. Makes me feel better about facing or own season of rot, which I'm not feeling good about after such a dismal summer.

7th Oct 2008, 10:59

Caine says:

Thank you, Para! I know how you feel. Too many years follow the 'no summer, here's winter' program here. This year has been an exception, granting a beautiful autumn. We had next to no Spring this year, though. Always seems one season is lacking, except for winter. Oh, winter. I'm so not ready.

7th Oct 2008, 11:03

yes, I must admit it seems like moments since you were posting end of winter shots...

7th Oct 2008, 11:13

Caine says:

Feels that way to me too. Winter is so long here, it always feel as though you're being cheated on the rest. I have a feeling this winter is going to be slow in getting going, which means when it hits, it will be vicious and hang tight in the new year. Oh well, it's not often I see such an autumn, so I'll be thankful for that.

It is. I particularly like the leaf in its cradle.

Really like #3 - all that sun, the warmth of the colour in the leaf, but cold as can be.

7th Oct 2008, 21:10

They're all beautiful, but I especially like the Forrest Gump feather!

7th Oct 2008, 22:04

Caine says:

Thanks, OJ. The fence always captures leaves in the most interesting way.

Thanks, 540. Yes, it's pretty but I'm not enthused about winter, I never am. The trees are losing all their leaves already.

Thanks, 329680, I love autumn too.

Thank you, Shitake.

Thanks, Hildegard. The sun for that shot was the last intense bit before sunrise.

Thank you, Sharon!

Thank you, 095, the sun was just perfect for that shot.

Thank you, Viv. I'm hoping to get a horse chestnut tree from one of the nuts in the bottom shot. :)

it's fixed

Caine says:

Thank you, Maggie! That fence is one of the first things I look at every Fall. There is always at least one great leaf capture.
