I've just found out I'm doing a 26 mile charity bike ride this Sunday - I'm unfit and haven't done a journey longer than 2 miles on my bike in over a year. The route takes you up many hills, one with a 40% gradient. It's not looking good.

Time for a warm up...

Only if I happen to be made the back marker first aider again and have to tend to all those who fall off/crash/dehydrate.

Not fatal! I was let off lightly. We had a team of 4 out already, and so (luckily) I was based at the start/finish line throughout. I could have done it, just not in record breaking time.

It was hot weather though but the elite riders managed it in just under an hour.
