"To Gloucester. I enclose a sponge. Love, Joe"
Why the hell would they need to know that lot??
they don't need to know, you're not obliged to answer, and where the hell is the box for Jedi Knight?
I usually put 'none of your business' on questionnaires like that. So far nobody has responded
"Why did you come and join today?"
I'd put a line through everything else and answer "because I want to get a foofin book out you numpty"
I'd like to know in what universe Chinese isn't Asian?
Also, Sprocket's comment is made of win. ;)
Oh for pity's sake. Pure nosiness to no point. In the past, when confronted with such idiocy, I have written in my standard race descriptor a time or two:
Dutch-Scottish-Croation-English-with tiny bits of Greek-Russian freckled melanin-impaired, ginger-haired Leftpondian.
I always just put down 'any other ethnic group' just to keep outside the box. Why are they lookin' for such a narrow slice of genes anyway?
The funniest/stupidest part of this was when they asked the question initially, it was aimed at daughter number two, who is nine years old!!
Sprocket - Priceless!! :) Best I could come up with was "Why did you come and join today?" "Because I wanted to answer questions that have nothing to do with book borrowing".
Mandy - We get a different kind of traveller/gypsy here. Mostly Irish and troublemaking.
hobo - I'll ask them next time I go in.
silar - That's one of those quirky British things. Generally over here, if you are referred to as Asian, it means to be of Indian or Pakistani origin. I've no idea why we do it that way, but we do :)
Rick - I put "any other" as my answer, but I'm liking "Dutch-Scottish-Croation-English-with tiny bits of Greek-Russian freckled melanin-impaired, ginger-haired Leftpondian". C, that's brilliant :)
Joker - It's the usual "have to know everything" brigade I guess.
D - Nice one, it always works doesn't it? :)
so did she get a book out after this educational moment?
Yes, she got a book about Florence Nightingale for a school project she was doing.
(P) what's this?
