I'm also thinking that the more I mention physiotherapy in norwich, the more people who can be helped might find this page too. After all, Jo (literally) scratches my back, I thought helping her get found on google for "physiotherapy in norwich" would be the least I could do.

Glad you could find a physiotherapist in Norwich, and a good physiotherapist in Norwich too - are there many Norwich physiotherapists? Good physiotherapy is a joy to find.

Is the TENS to mitigate aquired acupuncture sensitivity, or whatever they call that funny feeling where one's been needled a lot?

Technically, it's not TENS, as it's subcutaneous rather than transcutaneous. As it's a paingating thing, voltage is recalibrated each session to just below the threshold of pain.

Sean - aye, indeed. I have a diagnosis and everything (T4 syndrome). Finding a good physiotherapist was where it all went right. The physiotherapy is non-NHS, and therefore costs money, but it's not that much, and well worth it.

yah. Acupuncture needles are inserted near the nerve outlets at the most fuxored part of my spine, then the 'leccy is pulsed, in the AC style, at something between 1 and 160Hz or so. Feels in the 50-60 range, but I'm not sure. The constant nerve stimulation at just below the pain threshold convinces my brain to move the 'pain baseline' for those nerves higher - which is why it makes me feel better.

Proper science, not hand-waving in the slightest. No chakras involved. I have nothing to do with that kind of nonsense.

I'm not suggesting it's hokey pokey. I just wondered if it was one of those experimental "it works.. but we're not quite sure why.." sort of things.

The box she has kind of reminds me of a beatbox like a 303 or an old drum machine. This raised the idea that she can play you like Ralf Hutter would.

Same principle as beating arthritic joints with nettles only less dependent on the season...

and much less painful. it's actually rather pleasant, unlike copious nettle stings. Apparently nettles in tea form works well for arthritis relief - which avoids the pain and the redness, and is also rather pleasant.

Hm... can't quite get with you on the nettle tea - camelias make tea & that's it, IMO. ;)
The nettle sting thing is a gate response though - if you get stung beyond a certain point, the gate's reset & you suddenly have a nice tingly feeling instead. My worst ever nettle incident left my legs & arms tingling for almost 48hrs. Very odd but not at all unpleasant...

Murphy Physiotherapy, eh? The next time I'm in Norwich... Will they make me better, faster, stronger? Can the best physiotherapist in Norwich rid me of my neck and shoulder pain? :)

i need a physiotherapist, but Norwich is a long way to travel even for a damn good un. I love TENS in all its guises.

T4 syndrome? Like that sunday morning channel 4 thing? Brash, annoying, painful etc? :)

I had the old-fashioned needle acupuncture for my RIS and it worked. Great to hear you found a solution. Jo has a great smile.

it sounds like you've got physiotherapy in norwich sorted, should I ever need any physiotherapy in norwich I will definitely be visiting Murphy Physiotherapy :)

I too would partake of Murphy's physiotherapy in Norwich, I might even visit their physiotherapy clinic in Norwich when I am up that way in August. Perhaps physiotherapy in norwich is the best place to receive physiotherapy, especially at Murphy Physiotherapy

i think its what i've got following a car accident, but finding information about it on the net is hopeless. any tips or hints??

pretty sure, yes. I've drawn pretty much a blank on the internet too - it seems there really isn't much literature out there, at least that I could find. Someone with some relevant medical/physiotherapy journal access could probably turn something up.

I suggest you phone a few physiotherapists near you and ask them what they think (maybe ask if they've heard of T4), then go and see the one you like the sound of most. if you're in the Norwich area, go to Murphy Physiotherapy.
