It's just not the same as a slow drip brewed coffee, harsher and somehow less satisfying. This is a "long espresso" or "americano" as people like to call it nowadays.

I'm not sure that you should compromise with coffee. Or chocolate. Or lots of other things.

I have something like that. But it is so smart it makes anything from watery awful coffee to something you could walk on. It also has a lot to say with its digital readouts--like clean me, decalcify me, empty the grounds. more water, more this, more that...runs the house, and me.
try playing with it to make some normal coffee. It's smart but demanding. Like some people I know.
