Reminds me of the robo laser thing from Logan's Run. Now if we could get everyone to wear pastel-coloured jumpsuits and pop people off when they hit 30, er, um, on second thoughts, strike that idea.
can it be programmed to take my face off?
Sprocket - Praps not with the hitting 30 thing, best we strike that!! :)
mat - Quite probably!! It can apparently do all sorts of wonderful things, struggles with stairs and washing up though.
The whole department was just incredibly cool. Every desk had 21" widescreen monitors and all sorts of fantastic techy bits and bobs :)
Very techy. Where do I get one of these! Haha! I do wonder how well such a device would handle abnormalities encountered during the course of surgery... or is it a remote control type thing?
Not sure I'd be too relaxed lying under there.
But at least it'd not have just come in late from a rough night out, or have half a mind on this afternoon's golf game.
They are currently made in America, but I guess in a few years they'll be made all over the place.
To be honest, I'm not sure, but I think it's possibly a remote control type thing, where a surgeon can be in a different hospital and just watching on a screen, whilst giving commands to the robot.
It went a little over my head when he was telling me about it, but I'm not entirely sure I'd be too comfy if it was to be operating on me either :)
