Greenpeace is committed to exposing environmental problems with creative and non-violent direct action.

The Rainbow Warrior is in the UK to urge Gordon Brown to Give Coal the Boot

She's our world famous flagship, she's helped to win Greenpeace campaigns across the globe and now she's in the UK to persuade Gordon Brown to Give Coal the Boot.

There will be political visits, campaign seminars and a journey along the Kent coastline to highlight how Kent is threatened by climate change. I'll be blogging from the ship throughout the tour so, if you can't make it in person, follow the ship tour blog, sign up for daily email updates or follow the latest on Moblog.

On Wednesday 12 July, we occupied Admiralty Arch where illegal timber is currently being used as part of refurbishments. The plywood used as hoardings comes from the rainforests of Papua New Guinea where illegal logging is rampant.

We're demanding that Tony Blair bans imports of illegal timber which is destroying the world's remaining ancient forests.

See what happened during the day in pictures and video, and get involved by sending a fax to Tony Blair, telling him you want a ban on illegal timber as well.

A job well done! Let's hope the moblogging of future events continues...it's certainly made me aware of this cause and I've written about it on my own blog!

If you like the pics, make sure you send a fax to Tony Blair. The more the merrier!
