I'm really suffering. Normally it makes good financial sense to write for US Magz but now...

22nd May 2006, 14:13

i might get on to the importing thing now. dont really have much money for it at the mo now!

kostika says:

1.87:1 Not good. But you know who to blame.

BadJon2 says:

Do you think it will affect black market goods too?

BadJon2 says:

And what about their lovely neighbours to the North? Im off there next week maybe I can pick up some goodies there...

22nd May 2006, 14:16

Dhamaka says:

hang on, have you changed your blog name because of this?

22nd May 2006, 14:17

yourhermione says:

no, changed my blog name for other reasons. This just adds to my annoyance with the universe at the moment.

But this specifically sucks because 55pounds is the cost of a year of paid moblog.

BadJon2 - 1 pound = 2.11 Canadian dollars. So yeah, it's like everything is on sale half off.

22nd May 2006, 14:22

kostika says: sucks for anyone in the US wanting to buy things abroad, especially from the UK as it'll cost them nearly twice as much in USDs than in GBP. The US economy is a bit of a mess atm and the USD isn't high in value compared to other currencies.

22nd May 2006, 14:22

Dhamaka says:

hang on a few weeks, or if you can a few months. Things should slowly sort themselves out by then

22nd May 2006, 14:25

puddlepuff says:

I still don't get it. Why would 2$ in the US be 1$ in England?

22nd May 2006, 14:26

puddlepuff says:

55.00 GBP United Kingdom Pounds

80.7893 EUR Euro

Uhmkee. What ever.

22nd May 2006, 14:28

kostika says:

Because the US economy is a mess. Bad economy means bad exchange rate. The USD currently isn't worth jack.

Edit: Even the Euro is stronger than the USD currently.

22nd May 2006, 14:28

puddlepuff says:

Euro has been kicking $ ass for a while now :) What I have been told.

Just realised that his keyboard has a $ sign and no Euro sing,... and is pissed off bout that.

22nd May 2006, 14:33

kostika says:

Well the USD and the Euro usually have approx the same exchange rate to the GBP, but that went to crap a couple years ago.

And most (british) keyboards don't have the € key actually.

22nd May 2006, 14:37

puddlepuff says:

**edit** Nevermind me,... and this last comment :)

Joe G says:

Good luck with your chemo - if it's anything like Neutropenic Alex I know it will be tough.
But, as with Alex (he's a good friend of my son), you sound like a really strong, positive person.

22nd May 2006, 14:51

puddlepuff says:

Whaa,... Alt + 2 is on this page.

22nd May 2006, 14:54

yourhermione says:

Thanks. I appreciate that very much, Joe. It's going well, though I am damn tired. I think about Alex a lot. He's got a hell of a lot more to deal with than I do. I guess that in the cancer roulette I got lucky.

No kidding! I just bought something from the UK and while it was still worth I still almost choked at the exchange...very sad story.

22nd May 2006, 17:54

DeanDare says:

Wow looks like it pays to be british for a while. Hope the chemo is going well still, Why have you changed your moblog title matey it i still good though

22nd May 2006, 19:52

yourhermione says:

It certainly doesn't pay to be American. I'm certainly embarassed most of the time to be associated with the crap we're pulling in the world.

Title changed because I'm stuck in a funk right now.
