Ah but I have a bit of a thing for the colour green so I wanted it more predominantly green. But it *is* gorgeous. Said I was obsessed didn't I?

Dress is being made by a dressmaker (that sounds funny!). I'm not allowed to say anymore about it incase it spoils the surprise for anyone who's coming and who reads this. Suffice to say V has seen it (the toile) and likes it and we shall be co-ordinating rather than competing. We chose her outfit a couple of weeks ago.

It is very exciting! The whole thing is really....

it's your day, possibly the one day you can be the most demanding so feh.. i'd hate to find that they couldn't do the colours the other way around for some annoying reason though, that would certainly cause tantrums.

The 17th eh? not long. I'm quite excited as an old friend of mine's just informed me of her nuptuals in december. Alas no frocks (or ties -she's banned ties) and even though her lady is 6 foot something and she's a meagre, well, short-arse i don't think there's a cat in hell's chance i'll be seeing her in heels either.

If i continue seeing my boy much longer with his 6'8 and beyond stature i may have to indulge in some heels for the sake of his posture, oh yes. Pah I walk around on tip toes half the time anyway. How hard could it be?

I didn't realise there was a boy on the scene, is he a new fixture? Will have to avoid calling him the tallboy as that's a cupboard....

Anyway, back on the subject, I suspect I will go with the top fabric. Overall effect is quite turquoise and shimmery, like a peacock. I'm now considering whether I can get away with doing my eye makeup to match!

Congratulations to your friend. Organising a CP is interesting in some ways because there is no precedent for it. Liberating in a way, but also you can feel like you're trying to reinvent the wheel constantly. Or you can if you want to avoid some of the more traditional elements of straight weddings.

I'd not be able to resist matching eye make up.. but then i like my eyes bold, there is always that fear of getting a bit carried away and ending up vaguely drag queen esque. I read somewhere if you're doing strong eyes you've got to play down the lips. or something.

the boy is not brand new no.. but he's got a reasonably low mileage.

I think at the moment my friends's just overjoyed about getting hitched really, I'm sure the 'wedding stress' will kick in eventually. Although i think the only tradtionalness they're keen on keeping is the large quantity of booze available at the reception!

Coming in late may I just say all the fabrics are gorgeous but I have a weakness for the greens over the blues. I do hope we are going to get to see you on the big day in all your finery!

Green! Always green. Aw, congratulations. I say, go for the matching eye make-up (Barry M or MAC do lovely colours). I (hopefully) avoid looking like a drag queen by not covering the whole eyelid, just using eyeshadow like liner, with an angled brush. A vaguely useful tip: my wedding present to you!

I do actually already have a MAC pigment pot in turquoise and more shades of green than you could shake a peacock feather at. Your suggestion might just be needed!

If my phone did macro I'd take a pic of my brilliant MAC bright-green-shot-with-gold eyeshadow for you. They wipe the floor with other make-up - you know it's true.

That MyStyleDiary thing is fascinating. It's probably a good thing it didn't exist in my teenage years - my, um, groundbreaking fashion sense back then is thankfully lost in the mists of time.

I don't. I would have loved it two years ago - I was really ill, and wore extremely glam, bright outfits to try and make up for being too tired to have much of a personality. Would've been nice to have a record.

Now I feel a bit 'meh', style-wise. Fashion annoys me, though I adore clothes. I think moving from a hip to a conservative place last year has messed my head up! And I'm moving to Italy in September, where everybody seems very chic but very conformist. I need a fierce new look for going there, definitely... but what? Decisions, decisions.

It's called Surreal, and it's a pressed powder. It only looks good on me when I have darker brown hair, though, cos it's SO bright.

May I direct you here? It makes me laugh til I snort and then hope nobody heard.
