Geodyne says:

I'm starting to think that no such beast exists in the UK...any suggestions?

I love the shots, especially the bottom two.

bronxelf says:

I'd send some over from 129th street but it would be cold when it got there.

Geo- the solution? Fly here. Go to 129th street. Joe will tell you-- this is the solution to this problem.

Geodyne says:

Tempted. VERY tempted.

When I come you can take me.

Joe says:

Geo, unless you're gonna spend a lot of money on beans, and brew the damn thing yourself, I think you'll struggle to find anything even close to decent...unless you're very lucky...there are a very small number of decent coffeeshops in the UK..alas not the one in chapel allerton...and I've run out of beans

the 129th street coffee was definitely one of the best if not the best I've ever had.

I know I'll be stoned for this, but I just don't get coffee *runs away covering head with hands*

Geodyne says:

So I've discovered. *sad, very sad*

I miss my special espresso maker at home. In fact, I caught myself looking at replacements last night (I can recommend the Nespresso pod system as doing a good cup). Bad coffee is a crime to the soul.

Joe says:

Euphro...you're obviously not trying hard enough...drink more of it :D

I have to admit, I'm not a big fan of espresso, I tend to enjoy a nice drip brewed java more than anything else really.....

Geodyne says:

Ah, See, I'm very much a ristretto-with-nothing-else-added kind of gal. With lots of yummy crema. Drip coffee just doesn't taste right to me. Probably unsurprisingly, I was taught how to drink coffee in Italy.

E: It's very much an acquired taste.

Joe says:

I once had a ristretto in an italian restaurant, after 4 pints of stella....I was having palpatations within minutes :)....it's like the crack cocaine of coffee

Euphro says:

*bursts out laughing* :D:D:D:D

Geodyne says:

*laughs*

That's exactly right. Why let distractions get in the way of the caffiene fix? *grin*
