Just hanging out, he is. Watching the firewords, he was. Sitting on another's shoulders ... probably another Jedi, I think.

We all jumped at the woods, like fools. But it was only me and Griff who actually fell over. The ladies must have a better sense of balance.
(don't the leaves look gorgeous?)
Finally my turn ... I took the plunge ... uh ... jump.
Notice. Top picture. Very high. Stood up on the branch. Balanced. Jumped. Photographer missed it. Not to be repeated. Moved to a bit closer to the ground.
(edit: Ruth tells me that the top one is me jumping off the branch not balancing on it)
Christmas fireworks in Bedford this week. Gorgeous. Thanks for the invite Kirsten.

... and the pub was shut so I went for a stroll.
Is this a quadrupal trunk tree? I hope it doesn't get teased by the
other trees for being different.
Oh, and the meeting went better than I hoped.

When I was very young my parents sent me to Boys Brigade for a Lord of the Flies experience combined with marching and bible studies. I used walk home in teh dark by myself taking a path that skirted around the woods that were near our home. It was always a relief to get home and step into the light. This evening as I was walking back from ballet with my daughter I couldn't help thinking that even now there is still a tiny shread of that walk in the dark feeling.
