This is a funny time of year for me. Back from holiday, starting to get busy planning the year ahead but spending much time head down and writing. For the last five years, I've presented at the same conference and the paper I write usually pulls together some of the work I've been doing over the last 12 months. So it's a bit of a stock take. This year is no different except the research is still pretty raw and the paper has a few rough edges. I think it'll fly but feel it needs a bit of an airing. Hopefully, I'll get that next week.

Daily Mail headline - ten days of rain! - got me to hustle everyone onto bikes to enjoy the sun. Can't be the last days of summer can it?
Anyway, this stone circle ain't for worship. It's for climbing. Now if only we could do free running at Stonehenge.

Feels like a time to tidy. We did the back garden today - the autumn feeling makes me want to do that. Some of the plants were done. Weren't going to give us any more. And dumped out the photos on my phone. My phone takes terrible photos.

When they brought her desert at the Rainforest Cafe, the staff sang happy birthday to Ariana. I think she loved it.

Another rare view - why would a chemist sell mustard?

... and the collecting of. Ariana at the museum. The next day she wrote her website of animal facts.
And Griff? Well, he was enjoying the freedom to roam without parents.

At Omaha Beach. Wouldn't know now that this beach once ran red with blood when the allies landed in WW II. But it is a place to stop and imagine what it was like.
