for every hundred leaves, there is one flower. this forest is north of toronto, and is about to be 'developed' into monster homes.
a woodland plant, hermaphrodite flower, tasty ginger roots, used by First Nations people as, guess what, food flavouring. It is not related to Asian ginger, but it is definitely ginger.
in good weather this is where I blog from. today for lunch was tortilla pie with mango salsa and guacamole.
get a pie plate. put down a white flour tortilla.
spread a layer of refried beans, onions, tomato salsa and grated cheese.
repeat until pie is full.
bake 40 mins at 400 F.
chop up mango, onion, a little garlic and some coriander.
put some lime juice and olive oil on, maybe some salt.
mix it up.
cut a fresh avacado in half, take out the pit.
cut avacado up while in the skin, squeeze it out.
mix in garlic, chopped onions, tomatoes.
