Carfax Tower, Oxford

(viewed 6253 times)
Update 2 (4th Nov ‘07): Laura let me know that the clock has now been repaired, thanks Laura. From Laura Goddard:

"I attach a photo of the clock on Carfax Tower in Oxford City Centre. It's been stopped for some months now I think. There's a brief bit of info on the Tower (at) wikipedia.

It's in the most prominent position in Oxford, right in the heart of the shopping area and close to the historic University buildings. Everybody congregates round this area, especially tourists and it's a real shame the clock has stopped.

Newcastle Central Station

(viewed 4059 times)
From Donald Stewart:

I have been troubled for some time that the clock in the middle of Newcastle Central Station has been without hands for a long time now and it is right outside the ticket office and Departure and Arrival board where you really need to know the time!
Maybe it is away for extensive repair but somehow I doubt it.

Derby Roundhouse Clock

(viewed 4690 times)
From Andre:

"Derby once had a large railway industrial park in the 1800 and a lot of it was demolished during the 60s-80 to make new buildings.

But there is on part left of the railway shed and work offies which is called the roundhouse the building is very derelict in places but on top of this wonderful building is a two sided clock from 1800 the building was closed down in the 1980S and has never been used since then.

There have been plans for this building to turn it into hotels then into the new derby university. but i think that this building should be restored to its former glory.

iam only 15 but i also collect clocks and pocket watches and i hate to see them in abused conditions.

yours sincerly

Andre".
