This mirror was shattered in one corner, broken into five pieces and had a split frame which was rotten with water damage not long ago. It almost went to the scrap heap because I was told it couldn't be repaired. It's been in my family for over 100 years though and I just couldn't do it. I eventually found a restoration company willing to take on the project and I got it back today. It looks so beautiful and I'm so happy to have it back. I can't wait to bring it back home to England.

I was cleaning out yet another storage area last week and found this antique Bible from the 1870s. My in-laws gave it to me years ago but I'd never looked inside before. It was kind of cool to see the old artwork and find a family album in it.
Tropical Storm Hanna blew through Maryland today, leaving just as the sun started to set.
Rusty, conked out on his honking Booda bone.
This toy is like his security blanket but it's getting kind of old (and smelly!). Anyone know where I can buy a new one? This particular size is discontinued and of course, it's the only one he likes.
The family went to the carnival over the weekend in the husband's home town.
Old friends .. funnel cake ... prizes ... beer!
