You can change the settings on the S65 to 3 gradations of light and
darkness, these two are shot at +3 brightness and -3 Brightness. I like
the softness the darkened image has got.

It seems that without a strong background light the S65 is incapable of taking shots that lkeep colours bright and clear. As you can see, at a moderate light, the colours are washed out and the image very granular.

S65 granularity test

Siemens S65 Audio test. The interesting thing (at least for me) to note here is that you are actually able to send an audio recording at all. Often, the amr audio is not stored in a visible folder, as if the handset has decided you will only ever need access to a recording from the handset. Whether this was a conscious decision on Siemens part, or simply clear thinking, it's a good thing.

Im glad I did this. ordinarily when you send via mms, the operators have agreed a 100kb limit. This image is 102kb or so, and it got through. the good thing however is that the mms has not resized the original image. many handsets because they want to be able to stay within the agreed 100kb limit quite simply resize images immediately upon send, it is a very good thing that the S65 does not.

Now all we need are some club pics...

OK, I am impressed. This makes this phone a bridge to true digital
photography (albeit at a low entry point). For me, I reckon I'd schlep
around town with the flash in a safe pocket just to be able to use it in
this way. This was taken in total darkness btw, so, it works.

Now here's where I get actually honest to goodness impressed.
Good form factor,a 1.3mpx camera, and a flash that doodahs in au
naturel. I like.
images taken in complete darkenss to follow.
