ONE DAY

(viewed 464 times)
1. 6AM. (yes, I was working this morning) At least once a week there are the remains of a headlamp or tail-light scattered around the foot of this lamppost in the carpark.
2. Charlotte Church is a dirty girl (go google that one!) - spent most of the afternoon fitting a new derailleur.
3. 4.30PM Up on the bridge taking my dailybridge photos as dusk fell all around me.

HALF-ASSED JOB

(viewed 457 times)
I lavish praise on them and what do they do? Pembrokeshire, the county where nothing ever gets done.

HOW LIGHT IS MY WALLET?

(viewed 475 times)
Very!
Called in at the bike shop "just to say hello". The rear mech I'd ordered when I still worked there and since forgotten was awaiting me, and I really did need those gloves, it is winter after all! I'm a bit concerned about the name though - it doesn't say DEFECT does it?

GOOD JOB

(viewed 460 times)
I'm always reticent about paying a compliment to Pembrokeshire County Council, but they have done a superlative job of clearing up what was quite a dangerous stretch of leafmould on the cyclepath. Obviously the Councillors themselves didn't roll up their sleeves and muck in, so the real and heartfelt compliment goes to the New Deal guys with the shovels!

ALONG THE WAY TODAY

(viewed 457 times)
Had a bad morning; wasn't feeling at my best, but knew I had to attend the Pembrokeshire Local Access Forum this morning, and there were a few items on the agenda in which I am particularly interested. I duly turned up at the National Park Authority Office, 15 minutes ahead of time, only to find that the meeting was being held at County Hall in Haverfordwest, 12 miles away. All my own stupid fault for not reading the agenda properly. 2 truckers happily chatting away while blocking the cyclepath AND half the road received a small but choice segment of my bile. This happens often here, at the back of Asda. Round the corner from there they've just erected the christmas tree. It's shit. Outside Tesco, the Salvation Army "Band" (2 tubas, a trombone and two cornets) played christmassy tunes. That cheered me up a bit.

WHEN THE WEATHER IS FINE...

(viewed 403 times)
...you know it's the time
For messin' about on the river
If you take my advice there's nothing so nice
As messin' about on the river
There's big boats and wee boats and all kinds of craft
Puffers and keel boats and some with no raft
With the wind in your face there's no finer place
Than messin' about on the river
