New cycling spex

(viewed 380 times)
New cycling spex, at long last. I've been looking for a decent pair of wraparounds that will take a prescription lens for ages - bought some online a couple of years ago and had tremendous trouble getting my money back, but I basically just kept shouting down the phone till the bloke collapsed from tinnitus and sent me a cheque. These are from my friendly local opticians, Maggs Optics of Haverfordwest. The "buy one get one free" offer didn't extend to a pair of shades I actually wanted to wear, so they let me choose from their sports range, and despite them having to get special lenses ordered, they only charged me for the frame.

10pm

(viewed 438 times)
The flurry of snow we had at around 3.30pm seemed to be our lot right up
until around 6.45pm, when it started up again with slightly more enthusiasm.
As I was due to be picked up at 7pm to go to a meeting in Angle this was par
for the course - there are a couple of steep and remote hills along the road
which quickly lose their negotiating skills when sprinkled with snow. In the
end we didn't go, in case there was more snowfall before we returned. Looks
like there would have been - this is me poking the camera's nose out of my
front door at around 10pm, about half an hour before we'd have been due to
return. The kids will be cock-a-hoop tomorrow!

WHITE?

(viewed 425 times)
Not Quite! A snowflake which had landed on some cardboard outside the back
door just now, about 5 minutes AFTER the kids got home from SCHOOL. No
closures here! Now, 10 minutes later, the excitement is over and the
snowflake has melted, everything back to normal, or as near to normal as it
can be after such a momentous event.

LIGHT

(viewed 379 times)
No snow whatsoever here, just lots of nice bright sunlight! Today is the
first time since Friday I?ve been able to get out of bed, let alone open the
windows and let some of thatglorious icy fresh air in!
