Sunday was Rufford to Abram, a village outside Wigan. Monday night was in central Manchester. On Tuesday we did 27 locks in the pouring rain to reach Ashton-under-Lyne. On Wednesday we went to Ikea, bought a table and chairs and then went all the way to Macclesfield! Yesterday was spent getting to Congleton and tomorrow it'll be Kidsgrove.

I'm buying a narrowboat to live on in Cambridge whilst I do a PhD. It's being surveyed today - so I hope there's nothing seriously wrong with it. If the survey's okay, I should complete the sale in the next few days.

This is the boat coming to take the harbour pilot back to Montevideo.
We're homeward bound on the Atlantic Ocean with a two brief stops, one
to pick up some scientific equipment and one to exchange some passengers
at Madeira. We should be back in the UK on June 7th.
