Daisy Ellen Johnson 1914-2010

My last remaining grandparent passed away yesterday :-(
It's strange - she'd been in a nursing home with severe dementia for the last few years so the person I know when I was growing up is long gone. I don't feel a great sense of loss, although I do feel sad about it obviously. She outlived all her brothers and sisters and pretty much all her friends, so the funeral is going to be very quiet.
Things I will remember about her: Tales of East End London during the war, teaching me to knit and me being fascinated by her false teeth (which she never showed me!) as a child. The smell of tomatoes growing in her greenhouse and geraniums in her 'lean to'. Feeding bourbon creams over the fence to the next door neighbour's dogs... Happy times. Bye Nan xxx
