The temple at the Dalai Lama's monastery, monks doing their laundry nearby, and
carved and painted mantras.
It's so overwhelming, that I heard someone actually say: "oh, is he back here? I
thought he was in India."
18 May. The nature around here is very beautiful. We manage to go for a walk
before the weather changes.
16 May. Here we are. This is the home of the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan
government in exile. It's a big mix, Tibetans, Himachal (local) people, and
foreign tourists in apparently equal numbers.

Fortunately, it becomes easy to get a good night's sleep almost everywhere.
We arrive at 4.30am in the middle of nowhere, and get a taxi for the one-hour
ride to Dharamsala. I feel sea sick...

15 May. Off the train for a few hours. We hire a cheap room in an interesting hotel,
behind the cow, have a shower, and tour the terraces to watch the world go by.
