Life on boats
No washing machine on board, the living space only took a fraction of the boat - cargo being the main thing. So different from now...!

Ellesmere Port
Lots to see. I expected to spend a good hour there, but we ended up staying all afternoon. We were lucky with the weather, no one else braved the elements so we got the museum to ourselves. The volunteers were the only other people there (almost), and they took time to talk to us.

Real winter at last...

Nearly gone today...
The 'Lime Street eyesore' aka concourse tower today. In 2004, there
were plans to refurbish it. They didn't survive long.
