I got home from work exhausted after a really long day, but it was a
lovely evening, so I grabbed the camera and we went out. So glad I
did; miles more invigorating than slumping in front of the telly.
Polish cigarettes seem especially popular. Anyone know if the third one down, here, is Catalan?
Wow, there are more of these than I remember. I got really into working out what the languages were and what the messages might be in English - broadly, they seemed to be similar to the messages on British packets. There's one, I don't know whether it's Hungarian or Turkish :)
This was a little project I did a couple of years ago and never quite got around to uploading. It started when I read a cigarette packet that read Roker sterven jonger, which I figured meant "smokers die younger", but wasn't sure of the language (I'm pretty sure now that it's Dutch). I then went on a bit of a photo bender with the warnings on foreign cigarette packets, which are a depressingly common sight on the streets (I'm glad that smokers are enjoying foreign travel - if only because then they're not then smoking at me - but, along with consumers of fast food, they are clearly litter louts).
