Zombie me, bathed in the light of my laptop screen. Very natural habitat here.
Crappy day, don't feel like writing about it.
There was good food for lunch and dinner though- two bright spots.
Have company in town still. I will hopefully be back to commenting by the end of the week.
July 23rd, 2007, in my time zone. Hmm, that appears to be a lie as I am messing about with this after midnight. Still, it is my post for the date July 23rd.
Playing a round of mini golf. I tied for first place. I also really suck at it. This means our entire group really sucks at mini golf.
Today was my sister's birthday. We took her out to Indian food for lunch. Then I made some strawberry lime ice cream for dessert. I also baked chocolate orange cupcakes, and made a mini bundt cake for her.
Then we headed out to mini golf (and bumper boats).
I think she enjoyed her day.

It is shaping up to be a long day. I woke up and did some cleaning and then rushed out to do errands.
Next I took an unfortunately long trip to my favorite sushi restaurant. We were very well taken care of and I am now completely stuffed with delicious sushi. It was well worth the drive, although traffic was QUITE horrible.
The return trip was better, but there is no time to relax at home and enjoy. I am now dressed and ready to head out the door to a party. We are already late, but I am just going to pretend it is fashionably so. Party is to go on until the wee hours of the morning, but I am old, lame and really not much of a party animal, so I will no doubt be home early.

I look awesome, right?
I just dropped the kidlet off at a bookstore to wait for 5+ hours doing geeky nonsense with her friends. The store has face painting and people dressed up and trivia games and whatnot. She is there with her aunt and her friend and she is happy. We, are taking my mother out for a nice dinner. We are happy to NOT be at the bookstore.
This morning we went to see the opening matinee of Hairspray and had a wonderful time.
Oh, the goofiness on my face? The bookstore was handing out tassels and these glasses. Of course I combined them.
Oops, have to go back to the bookstore because kidlet forgot something important. Grr.

I am having another "I really don't feel like doing this" day.
I have company coming tonight, and nothing is going terribly well around the house today.
While cleaning I found something I had ordered that I never tried on. (I prefer to order things online. I don't care for stores and I despise dressing rooms.) I tried it on. It fits. I like it. Done.
Calling the company to see how much time I have until they arrive. House is still too out of sorts. Oh good, straight to voicemail.

I am waiting. Waiting in the exam room for the new doctor to show up. She isn't really new. She has been a doctor for a while, but she is new to me.
I have been waiting for a long time. I am messing about with their stuff now as I have grown bored. I am taking photos of their stuff, of course.
They totally screwed up the BP taking and then wrote it down anyway, as if the number was still significant after harassing me for that long.
I would really like to go find a restroom now, except it is waiting time, not bathroom time.

This is me wearing a t-shirt that I got as a birthday gift.
I think the photo came out clear enough, but just in case, it says:
curse your sudden...
... but inevitable betrayal!
My BIL and SIL sent it to me. I like it. I almost never wear t-shirts, except as pajamas, so the fact I am wearing this to leave the house definitely says that I like it.
The day has felt very long. Several little work annoyances and one larger one. We just got home from dinner, and I am about to have some coffee and the ice cream that was leftover yesterday. I do not expect there will be any leftovers tonight. I'll make it again this weekend.

I am drinking a Bloody Mary.
It is akp's birthday and we had a friend over for dinner (crab, spinach and artichoke dip with crackers, celery or carrots for dipping - rib eye steak - broccoli - and fresh strawberry lime ice cream *thanks Bronxelf* for dessert).
By the time I realized I hadn't taken a photo today the light was so bad I couldn't get a decent shot with this stupid phone unless I went into the crazy bright bathroom and set the camera to the supposed low light (means ridiculously overexposed and grainy) mode. Yeah, I am sure that taking my phone and my fricken drink into the *bathroom* looked really normal to our dinner guest. I didn't even bother to explain myself. Who knows what he thought I was up to.
"What, doesn't everyone take their Bloody Mary and a phone when they go to the toilet?"
