SHIT! IT WORKS! - secret plans are afoot
my kindom for an ethernet card.
Ubuntu doesn't like my wireless card, and I don't have an ethernet adapter...ndiswrapper installs the driver and loads the module, and Gnome reports the card as active. ifconfig reports the interface as up, and the ip/gateway are correct for my network, but it can't ping anything, and my router doesn't show it as being an attached device...most frustrating....
I set up a small network at my mum's school, so the kids now have broadband and new machines to learn (read play) with
