been waiting all day.
finally showed up around 8pm.
installed drivers, and it sees the wireless base station fine, but, is having issues connecting. hoping it's an issue with the hex key i have, and not that it won't work.
so, tomorrow, when people are awake in the UK, I'll call my dad and ask if he maybe gave me the wrong key.

my mom found someplace that actually has the candy I used to get. going there is on my to-do list for after i get a job/bills paid.
I am shamed, i could only eat half of one before my eyes started watering.

Joe, Shoes, I should have asked you to take this back for me. : X
I constantly fail to return the plastic sorts of roomkey.
(when I travel, it's usually, a lot of people packed in one room, so, the key gets juggled about when someone needs to go somewhere/etc. it's just confusing. however, I'll probably be back there again this january, so, at that point, I can run in and leave it on the desk.)

worth embarrassment of posting because, it really makes an example of how tired i am.
I actually think the bags under my eyes are permanent, at this point.
also, this is a really comfortable shirt, except for the fact that it wrinkles up all weird when I lean to one side/ don't have my shoulders straight.
so, two reminders to myself. sit up straight, and sleep more.

warm, soft, and bought so long ago, I couldn't replace it if i wanted to. bah.

"you've got red on you."
in typical last-minute fashion, i find the store to be out of my
recent haircolor choice, and go with something else, knowing full well
it will be a mess/ not what i want. but i figure a solid color is
better than unkempt as far as looking nice for an interview.

waiting for bus, yesterday. los angeles has lots of crack(s).

my phone does surreal art.
(nightmode causing motion blur/ distortion, along with sun? I think.
don't know. I took that using phone as mirror, but decided to save it,
even if it meant not being able to see if i had anything funny looking
about my face before walking into interview. )

didn't come out quite as good as intended, my hair is most definitely two different lengths.

also, the sky has a belly-button. also, not using vowels doesn't work in other languages. I will never in a million years remember what this title was (though it was a word i learned before I was 6 years old/ hint to self)

we've been having off/on electrical storms that are , frankly, making me very uncomfortable.

electrical storms belong in CT, not CA.

they're nice. but. yeah. (did i mention that my computer was fried by the power out we had here a bit ago? yeah. you can bet i unplugged the new/old g3 before i went to sleep yesterday)

things eventually went okay.
it refused to fully install 10.3 on my old boot drive, the 55gig. probably because of corrupted stuff on it, or something strange with scsi vs. ide internal drives not getting along.
so, I wiped one of the 9gigs (that sounds like an airplane), and did a clean install on that.

i've never had more discs/drives loaded at once. it's kindof, strange.
also, on the 120gig firewire, I was finally able to recover one of the partitions! it has some of my first mp3's, from 1998 or so. anyone who knows what program's filetype icon that is gets bonus points. it also has all my 1mp digital photos from 2001/2002.

no slot for airport card. no way to (easily/safely) get cabling up to my room. options are pci card or usb dongle.
usb wifi, yes! nothing for mac that's under 70$? fsck...

so I find a site that mentions anything using a certain chipset is cool, because the chipset makers have mac drivers. so i get a list of all models carrying their chipset.
and i go through them, one by one.
four hours from starting, I've purchased this little guy. 25$ at newegg.com, where it's 39.99+ elsewhere.

(31$ with tax and 3 day shipping. and that was 31$ that was supposed to be part of "alexis stop being depressed, fucking leave the house and go buy a new hoodie and or see a movie" money, but, internet = more required for my life than a jacket/fun.)
