someone posted a picture (that was on the home page for about 10 seconds)
when I clicked on it, I got a notice saying it was password protected.
so, because I couldn't leave this as a comment:

burning-tabs

(viewed 547 times)
It's that time of year again, where everyone is posting to various blog sites about gearing up, trying to find those last-minute playa supplies.
I've never gone to burning man. The first (lot) of times I declined, it was because I didn't think it could be enjoyed by someone unwilling to use illegal substances. I (think I've) realised my error in thinking that. Then I had to pass because of personal health/ financial reasons.
In 2006, I might be out of excuses.

I've been spending hours and hours researching bits on phone and internet services on/near black rock city. going to continue editing/posting links for my own use, here, I think. (at least, for the next day or so, and then I'll compose an email to send around/ see about more ideas/ if what i'm thinking about is possible.) I just think with cameraphones being so popular, mobloging from the event, live, realtime, would be so, so cool.

best info I've found so far on related things:
the voip phone.. used with donated sat link and 802.11...

"Computer use at Burning Man is a politically touchy subject. Some of the most influential members of the community regard it as a Bad Thing and think BRC residents should check their Internet habit at the gate. Others disagree." from this site.

too hot (and enough sun)

probably 15 out of 50 seeds sprouted, looks like only 1 to 3 are going to make it, though.

blueberries and pears, with vanilla yogurt. surprisingly good.

yogurt also yoghurt or yoghourt. No wonder I was confused...

I finished all 18 characters on my crossstitch... now I've just got to plan out the decorative things. (I'm actually enjoying the box-counting-mind-numbingness of this pattern-planning part...)

Nature, time and patience are the three great healers.

point five oh

still sick. it's more of a slightly high temperature and all over aches, now, though. no more throat pain that makes me want to die.
so, that's good. sort-of.

this cross stitch thing is going really well. it wrecks my hands even more than the computer, but, I'm already halfway done. (halfway done with something I've wanted to make for yeeeeaaaars. I can't even explain how happy I'll be when I finish.)
I think I've got things sorted out, so it won't be as bad. I just need to use shorter strings. it means more tying knots, but, less unpicking tangles.
