J B Spray 2

(viewed 605 times)
The ground floor has barricades up at the windows to prevent the police attempting an illegal eviction, so is too dark to photograph.
The 1st floor is being used as the living quarters, with plaster board walls (that were put up many years ago (it has been speculated that an attempt to convert the building into offices OR that it was used as some kind of film set) and are currently sturdier than a lot of the building) creating smaller bedrooms.
So i begin my tour on the 2nd floor. A floor on which, 2 years ago, a few of us played cricket on. I would not feel safe playing cricket on this floor today. It was my first sighting of pigeons and ponds in the building.

J B Spray

The J B Spray building in Radford, Nottingham was built is 1870 and served as a lace factory.
It has now been empty for many, many years.
It is Grade II listed, yet the owner refuses to take any care of the building; letting it rot. The roof is leaking, causing damage to several floors below. There are pigeons living in the top floors, with the top storey's floor being completey covered in pigeon shit.
The building has been squatted several times in the past; see here, here, here and here. Including for Spring Into Action, a week of workshops about climate change in 2007; see here, here and here.
It has recently been re-squatted and is already holding events (here) and having troubles (here).
I went to visit them almost 2 weeks ago and it's obvious how much care they're giving the bulding and how simply having people in there makes such a difference. It has deteriorated so much in just 2 years there are now (thanks to the new occupants) metal poles holding up roofs and (thanks to a neglectful owner) 'ponds' on more than one floor. The top storey, whose balcony's used to be accessable, is now completely unsafe to walk on.
I took hundreds of photos while i was there. More to come.

Hello Mike

This is a single shot from my first ever stop motion film. I made it for a friend of mine. We have big plans to make a stop motion film together :) It's simple and a bit crappy, but it was fun; i've already started on number two!

The actual video is far too big to upload here, so if you want to see it, please click this handy link.

Thrice The Wendy

(viewed 1010 times)
I went to the allotment with my camera this morning.
I didn't lose my fisheye adapter ring.
I finished trimming the hedges and did a bit of tidying.

Yay me x 3.

Tied Up In Knots

I was looking for props to make a word out of for another photo idea i had, but i saw my (notso)Beardy Man's ties and instantly had to do this instead.

Much fun.

Meow Meow

On our way home from the shops this morning we spotted this little cutie in the near by school yard. We coaxed her out under the fence for some attention and then she found a mass of raisins near the bin. (!?)

Jump Outtakes

(viewed 983 times)
I debated with myself about whether to post these or not, but in the end i thought 'bugger it, i like them too much not to post them!'
The first one was actually the first photo i took on this occasion and although it's not was i was trying to get, i really like how high and cut off i am. Heh.
The second was just so blurry i think it's great (because any photo of me is made 100 times better by being blurry ;))
