One of my 5 nieces is 18 today. She's away doing her very exciting job and will be celebrating with colleagues tonight. I'm sure my Bro J and his wife will be missing her today so they're dining with us tonight.
Why isn't there a collective word for nieces and nephews like *siblings* for brothers and sisters? Or is there? Has it passed me by....
John lost his wife to cancer 18 months ago. He's had a hard time coming to terms with widowhood, especially as he's riddled with cancer himself. Every Wednesday he buys flowers for one of the ladies in his life...A neighbour, or his daughter or me, because I'm part of his support network. My turn came around again the week that had Valentine's day in it and he gave me these Lisianthus.

We spotted this fella sunning himself on the shed roof on Friday. He is often around and belongs to a nearby house. DD calls him Tash because he has a white moustache.
