I assure you that this is a picture of one of the kittens that we'll soon be owning one of. Utterly ass lighting conditions meant that this is the best picture I could get of them, but they were astonishingly cute, obviously.
The day after the bank holiday we returned to work and learned that one of
our colleagues died the night before very suddenly. He was a great bloke and
it all rather knocked us for six with it's suddenness, probably more than
normal considering another guy had died in the Tsunami at Christmas. Today
was his funeral, and anyone who wanted to go was allowed and bussed out. I
didn't know him too well so I stayed behind and helped man the fort, but it
was yet another unwelcome reminder of the fragility of this crazy little thing we call existance.
Mind you, we did get a bunch of kickass donuts out of the deal, verily tis the circle of life.
