New, annoying toy

(viewed 1333 times)
So work gave us our annual bonus and it was kinda burning a hole in my bank
account. So I bought myself a new Xbox...Geeeeez. Spent most of the
afternoon downloading patches, shouting at it when it crashed, yawning
through the loooong loading times, picking my jaw up off the floor at some
of the bugs and generally being a bit annoyed with it.
Can anyone else
confirm if it takes forever and a day to download stuff off the live arcade?
An hour and a half for 14mb! That's lame, unless our connection's being

Also, it won't seem to let me do xbox live stuff, so I can't even take
out my frustrations on american teenagers. It is, quite simply, the most
Microsoft product in the world. It better improve with time, as it hasn't
got off to a good start.

Capsule reviews: Amped3 - full of annoying snowboard duuuuuuude bollocks,
incredibly long loading times and stupid controls. Might get better with an
investment of time, we shall see.

Ghost Recon: a few annoying bugs mean I haven't got very far with this yet,
but game crashing during training mission does not confidence build.
Opinions may change as people at work rave about it.

Full Auto: cars, guns, dumb fun. I like it, mainly because it's done least
of all to piss me off. Uncomplicated shooty-shooty bang crash fun.

Controller's nice, though.

Penn & Teller's Desert Bus

(viewed 3346 times)
Talking of screenshots - found this thread on Something Awful, about a
videogame made for the Sega CD back in the early 90s featuring the magical
duo that was never released. Now someone's got their hands on a copy so
everyone can experience the true joy that is Desert Bus, one of the
minigames. Experience the most accurate simulation of driving between Tuscon
and Las Vegas ever created. It's a flat featureless desert. The bus only
goes 45 MPH. The journey takes 8 hours. It is awesome in it's zen-like
genius, and if you ever reach Vegas you score... one whole point.Check the whole thing out here:;67022&perpage;@&pagenumber;=1
