Project management!

(viewed 560 times)
From the English and Middle yrs team. We feel that planning is imperative to effective project management. You must have a plan just like an architect has a blue print.

FW: Primary/Visual Arts

(viewed 468 times)
The Primary and Visual Arts team considered the non-linear nature of
learning design and the balance between planning, creativity and
flexibility. In relation to these issues the team discussed the sharing of
ideas and the importance of continuous evaluation. The following questions
arose:When and how should projects and ideas be shared?
At what stage/s of the project should external evaluation occur?
At what point do we need to commit to a detailed plan?

Project Management Issues

(viewed 457 times)
The Languages team looked at the types of problems that can hold up a
project and the places where project managers need support. One of the issues was the problem of finding out too late that their
project had been 'bumped' from the graphics or programming priorities,
even though timelines had been agreed to at the beginning of the
project. Our suggestion was that the LDRD managers should have some
input in deciding priorities for 'downstairs'. Perhaps there is a way
that graphics and programming can add their signature to the Project
proposal agreeing to the dates. In Languages, we are feeling restricted by the bank of Flash activities
available to us - especially when we know that we could do the exercises
in Hot Potatoes very quickly, with the font, style and skin of our
choice.Languages also has the problem of having to explain again and again that
the Quality Assurance standards are a bit different for our products,
i.e. listening tasks should not have alt text.

Julie talking about a maths product.

Yes .. it IS Julie ... and, even though my maths knowledge is a bit like a blank canvas, there was exciting material on the whiteboard. Trust me, Bill
