I've always had a passing interest in particle physics, I never studied
physics at all, but I've always been fascinated by how the universe works at
the smallest scale, I don't necessarily understand it all, but it fascinates me.
I've been following closely the development of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, and the fact that Peter Higgs (one of the fathers of modern particle physics and the man who came up with the Higgs Mechanism, which in simple terms, describes how gravity works) who is now 79, may get to prove that his theoretical particle, the Higgs Boson, actually exists, when they switch on the LHC in just over 2 weeks
So when I saw
http://www.particlezoo.net, I couldn't resist. I bought a Higgs Boson and a Photon :)
