Personal Favourites from my moblog

"And as you cross the circle line,
Well the ice wall creaks behind
You're a rabbit on the run.
And the silver splinters fly
In the corner of your eye,
Shining in the setting sun.
Well do you ever get the feeling
That the story's too damn real
And in the present tense.
Or that everbody's on the stage
And it seems like you're the only
Person sitting in the audience

Skating away, skating away, skating away On the thin ice of the new day"

FFS FFS FFS

Yep, snow. Pardon me while I scream...

Added: Walked through the yard. The grass is crunchy; the water drops semi-frozen. A lot of the baby birds won't live through this.

Play

Playing with a wineglass.

Now With Added Duck

(viewed 889 times)
A mom and 6 ducklings, who seem to have decided to live in the lilac bushes and the scrub shelter we have for the birds and bunnies. I'm afraid I terrified her a bit trying to get pics, I'll take some bread out for her now.

Edited to add: our new guest/resident is a Wood Duck. According to our bird book, they are supposed to live near shallow backwater ponds. From the bird book: "Young stay in nest cavity only 24 hours after hatching, then jump from up to 30 feet (9 m) to the ground or water to follow their mother, never returning to the nest."

Best guess, these guys recently left their nest behind and settled on our yard as a duck friendly place to be.
