Beyond the here and now...

Candlelit Heart
A Christmas Poem by Mary E. Linton

Somewhere across the winter world tonight
You will be hearing chimes that fill the air;
Christmas extends its all-enfolding light
Across the distance...something we can share.

You will be singing, just the same as I,
These familiar songs we know so well,
And you will see these same stars in your sky
And wish upon that brightest one that fell.

I shall remember you and trim my tree,
One shining star upon the topmost bough;
I will hang wreaths of faith that all may see --
Tonight I glimpse beyond the here and now.

And all the time that we must be apart
I keep a candle in my heart.

Words chosen by me

December 15th: Rudolph's Understudy

(viewed 1204 times)
Rudolph, the red-nosed greyhound
had a very shiny nose.
And if you ever saw him,
you would even say it glows.

All of the other greyhounds
used to laugh and call him names.
They never let poor Rudolph
join in any greyhound games.

Then one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa came to say:
"Rudolph with your nose so bright,
won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"

Then all the greyhounds loved him
as they shouted out with glee,
Rudolph the red-nosed greyhound,
you'll go down in history!

With apologies to Johnny Marks

As you can see, Tim was THRILLED to be a reindeer (not)

Anyway, from me and TheOtherHalf: Merry Christmas!
And from Tim: Woof!
(translated as: Can I go back to sleep on the sofa now?)

Isn't it funny that at Christmas something in you gets so lonely for - I don't know what exactly, but it's something that you don't mind so much not having at other times. ~Kate L. Bosher

I wish you all a Merry Christmas x
